A west Mesa hotel that has been an “eyesore” and “the source of criminal activity” is being converted into a 120-unit apartment complex. Neighborhood Ventures (NV) purchased the former American Inn along Country Club Road and Southern Avenue in 2021 for $13.2M ($110,000/unit), according to county documents. The group also crowdfunded nearly 300 Arizona residents to raise $3.5M to invest in the hotel. In April, NV goes before City Council for approval of a zoning change that will allow for long-term residents to reside on the 3-acre property.
