New City is asking Metro Atlanta for permission to include 780 new apartments in its $1 billion Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail project. There is no timeline for when the project will begin. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports New City will wait until the market is more amenable to lending for apartment projects. New City LLC would add two residential buildings to the project, which it calls Fourth Ward. Mailchimp’s headquarters anchor it, and it includes a boutique hotel and apartment tower.
