Highlights
Domus was finally approved to build a 29-story high-rise apartment complex at 215 North Racine Avenue in Fulton Market.
The development has been a test of the limits of aldermanic prerogative in Chicago, as the density zoning for the building was shoved through despite planning officials' rejection recommendation.
The vote was delayed a month so Domus could formally acquire land earmarked for a public park, a city requirement for the development getting such a rare zoning designation.
