New Omni coming to New Orleans? New Orleans’ convention center board approved a long-planned $575-million hotel from Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts, according to Nola.com. The deal, which still needs to be approved by New Orleans’ city council, would feature a 1,000-key hotel which would be the largest built in New Orleans in nearly 50 years. The plan calls for construction to begin in early 2026 and is scheduled to be completed in 2029.
