New Jersey-based discount store chain Burlington Stores Inc. (NYSE: BURL) is in the midst of a big nationwide expansion plan, which includes opening several stores in the Houston area.

Most recently, the company announced that its store at 5125 Richmond Ave. — less than a mile south of The Galleria mall — will open this fall. A specific opening date will be announced at a later time, a spokesperson said July 30.

According to information filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the $1.99 million project is combining two previous tenant spaces into one nearly 27,000-square-foot space. TDLR filings are preliminary and subject to change.
