Milam County, northeast of Austin, has agreed to provide economic incentives for a company planning to build an $850 million factory. T1 Energy, which makes parts for solar energy installations, secured the incentives, which will significantly reduce its property tax payments over the years in the agreement. The Austin Business Journal reports the company will receive 30 years of property tax abatements on a 113-acre parcel just north of Alcoa Lake in the 3,300-acre Advanced Manufacturing Logistix Campus.
