Will a stretch of San Antonio’s Broadway Corridor soon look like California’s famous Rodeo Drive? High-end shopping center Broadway East (BESA) cleared a significant hurdle when the city’s Historic and Design Review Commission gave the go-ahead to move a historic house necessary for the project to break ground.

Compared to the nearby Pearl District, BESA will have a heavier focus on luxury retail than dining options. A leasing brochure details a merchandising vision for the project that includes big designer names like Gucci and Louis Vuitton, heritage brands like Filson and Pendleton, and luxe skincare lines like Le Labo and Aesop.
