Oracle Corp. and OpenAI plan to develop an additional 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity in the United States, beginning with their site in Abilene.
The expanded partnership, announced July 22, is part of the Stargate Project announced by President Donald Trump in January. Trump unveiled the $500 billion, four-year effort to develop massive data centers across the country at the White House earlier this year surrounded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Oracle founder Larry Ellison and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son.
