The wait is over for Montgomery County residents who have been wondering what will replace a shuttered gourmet grocery store at Rockville Town Square. Trader Joe’s is readying to open its latest D.C.-area store in the roughly 17,500-square-foot space at 225 N. Washington St., MoCo360 reported Monday. Dawson’s Market vacated the space in June.
It would be the second Trader’s Joe’s in Rockville — the other is about three miles away at the Federal Plaza shopping center on Rockville Pike — and one of more than two dozen around Greater Washington. So far this year, the California-based chain has opened stores in Leesburg and West Springfield and has another in the works in Northeast D.C.
